In Philadelphia, the busiest hours are Friday and Saturday evenings and any night with a big game, when quoted delivery times can stretch past an hour; ordering before 5 p.m. or picking up yourself avoids the wait. Delivery radiuses are small, often two to five miles, and a minimum order plus a delivery fee is normal, with a tip of a few dollars for the driver on top. Lunch specials such as two slices and a drink, or a personal pie, are the cheapest way to eat at most shops across Pennsylvania on weekdays. Toppings are priced per item and half-and-half pies are usually free to request. Gluten-free crusts and vegan cheese are increasingly common but often cost a few dollars extra, and cross-contact in a shared oven is standard unless the shop says otherwise.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Philadelphia peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Poetry on a pie plate. They edit pizza down to the bare essentials and then execute perfectly. The slices never droop from excessive anything and they clearly use very high quality ingredients. The crowd roars! Bravo! Encore!

Tacconelliβs is one of those rare places that feels untouched by trends, hype, or the endless churn of modern food culture. It is deeply, unmistakably Philadelphia in the best possible way. The pizza is outstanding, but what makes this place special is the feeling that surrounds it. You call in the morning to reserve the dough for later that day. The menu is intentionally simple, and the pace is unhurried because they work with a single oven, turning out pies one at a time. This is not fast food pretending to be artisanal. It is a real neighborhood institution that has been doing things its own way for decades. The staff could not be warmer or more authentic. The entire restaurant feels like a family-run place full of OGs who love pizza, their families, and Philadelphia. Thereβs a groundedness and a complete lack of pretense that you can feel immediately, and itβs a huge part of what makes Tacconelliβs so special. In an era when so many restaurants feel engineered for Instagram or TikTok, Tacconelliβs feels refreshingly sincere and comfortable being exactly what it is. The pies themselves are fantastic. The crust has a beautiful balance of crispness and thinness, with a subtle g

Never disappoints! One of the best pizzarias in Philly. No surprise: pizza is all they do, and they do it well. Thin, crispy crust. Awesome server. Their own free parking lot a half block away. Don't forget to call ahead and reserve your dough - though they told us they had extra on our last visit if we wanted another pie. BYOB wine or beer.

Unfortunately they double booked up with another group so we have to wait 45 minutes to be seated. Once we were seated the night went smooth. The service was fast and consistent, very friendly and personable. The pizza here is always amazing!!! Crust soft lightly cooked and very flavorful. The sauce is very good hot, hot pizza!!!!! If you want good come here!, just expect a little bit of a wait. If only they had bigger bathroom.

I haven't been here in 20 years and it's as good as I remember! We called a few days ahead to reserve our dough, because they only make a certain number of pizzas a day. You can call at 10 am but they don't open until 4. You can't leave a voice mail to order or reserve dough. You have to speak to a person, which is how they like it. There are no computers, everything is done by hand. They serve only fountain soda and pizza. You can BYOB or bring in dessert. Lots of people were doing that. They are a cash only business so go prepared. There is a free parking lot on the corner labeled for Tacconelli's customers. City parking is always appreciated! You do have to walk about 1/2 a block up to get to the restaurant. Tacconelli's is in the middle of a block of row homes. The business sits under the Taconelli's family home who are 5 generations of bakers! Giovanni Taconelli is so welcoming and friendly. He is a proud one man, one oven shop, it says so on their menu. He makes every single pizza. He also allows you to come into the kitchen to watch him make your pizza in their unique oven. The pizza is super thin and light. Its so light that you can only have two toppings. You also probab
